Our story
More than visiting destinations
At Residency Bhutan Holidays, we believe travelling to Bhutan should be more than a list of sights. It should be about the country’s living culture, pristine landscapes, spiritual heritage and warm hospitality — the things you remember long after the photographs.
Supported by our hospitality properties, Thimphu Residency and Punakha Residency, we combine local destination knowledge with accommodation and travel coordination to offer convenient, customised travel solutions.
Our focus is on long-term partnerships with travel agents and tour operators, and on dependable service and memorable experiences for every guest.
The company is led by our CEO, Ugyen Tenzin, from our office at Thimphu Residency Hotel in the Hong Kong Market area of Thimphu.

Our name and our mark
A gateway, and a home
Residency is where we began: our hotels in Thimphu and Punakha, where guests are welcomed as they would be in a Bhutanese home. Holidays grew naturally out of that hospitality.
Our mark is a traditional Bhutanese gateway — tiered roof, carved windows — held within a circle. To us it says what we do: open the door to Bhutan, and look after you from arrival to farewell. The three dorje beneath our hotel logo — the thunderbolt of Himalayan Buddhism — stand for strength and steadiness.

Travel that gives back
Bhutan’s Sustainable Development Fee funds free healthcare and education and protects the forests that cover most of the country. We add to that in small ways: local guides and drivers, local farmhouses and restaurants, and itineraries paced to respect monasteries and villages.
